Letter from the editor

“I speak to everyone in the same way, whether he is the garbage man or the president of the university.”
― Albert Einstein

I think one of the most crucial things our community shares is respect. As I travel the blogs and forums here, I rarely see what I witness constantly other places on the web. In other venues, I witness horrendous behavior, name-calling, and downright viciousness. It's so nice to come here and be able to share opinions, facts, thoughts and just about everything knowing someone is not going to attack your view. Writers share a special voice and I think that the fact that we use it to further education and share friendship rather than hate is amazing and just what the world needs more of.

Oddly enough, I don't see many of us writing essays. Why?

How many of you have written editorials that share your views on a particular subject or event that you feel strongly about? It could be a political view, a worldview on healthcare or a historical view that shows the odd coincidences between two United States Presidents who were both assassinated in office. (Do you know who I speak of? It's fascinating!) Essays can take many forms though and there are a million topics at your fingertips. Obscure places and abandoned buildings to the history of the Winchester mansion, architecture holds many fascinating stories. People of hundreds of generations can also make fascinating editorial fodder. Love science, then Tesla may be a great subject to tackle. Whatever your interest is, there are a plethora of subjects to tackle - the sky is the limit! Let's share our knowledge with the world, WRITE!
