“On our own, we are marshmallows and dried spaghetti, but together we can become something bigger.”
― C.B. Cook
In my last newsletter [#9128] "What Should I Do Now?" I asked the elusive question 'What's next?"
I asked for ideas, processes, trade secrets ... I didn't get a real outpouring of ideas. I did get one solid response that said "I try to get involved with projects that are bigger than myself. I'm not sure if it's the social factor or the sense of accountability that makes a difference, but what I do know is that group effort is a lot of fun. And anything that's fun is definitely motivating! " from the Wordy Jay .
I like his idea and it makes sense. I'm sure it would work for some people quite well. What I've found is, not every kick-in-the-pants idea works for everyone. While some people use Facebook blocking timers and software to make sure they stay focused, others may just resort to the old-fashioned paper and pencil methods to avoid distraction. Staying active here though isn't just writing. The true reason this site is useful and so popular is engagement. To stay busy is to stay engaged. That can mean writing (of course), but it also means reviewing, responding to a reader poll, participating in an auction or raffle, or just signing in every day and quietly reading. Staying engaged and active at this site is what keeps you involved with the community. It's what makes us a community of writers and readers. It's what makes us more than just another Facebook or Twitter. We are a family of different nations, different languages, different interests, and different writing styles. Engage with each other and learn!

Excerpt:
The day was melting into night. The coolness in the air was becoming the cold dampness of the tomb. A rather morbid comparison I admit, but fitting none the less. For some reason I was scared. I had no reason to be. I don't know why. My husband was at the local rock wall. That left me with my fish for company.

Troubled thoughts,
inside my head.
Evil doings,
as strong as lead

From desktop to smartwatches, internet 1.0 to 4.0, our lives have changed a lot. From communicating through instant messages to banking, travelling, studying and shopping, the internet has touched every aspect of life. But with the growing use of the internet, protecting crucial information from getting leaked has become a necessity and this could be done only through cybersecurity.

Excerpt:
The bus driver’s gaze is fixated on the road, daydreaming about how nice it will be to see his beloved German Shepherd again after his shift.
A little boy is standing amongst adults with his backpack almost bigger than him, worrying about their judgement, but they never seem to pay him any attention.

Excerpt:
I said, “His name is Norman
I found him at the zoo
He looked so lost and lonely
So what else could I do?”

Excerpt:
Romance, they say, will win the heart,
but its easier said than done.
The dress was short on my last date,
I could nearly see her bum.

I received some wonderful feedback to my last newsletter [#9128] "What Should I Do Now?" and I'm proud to share it with you.
From hbk16
Good propos which bears a message that someone has to manage more time for writing.I wish that it will be more diverse writing subjects choice.
From the Wordy Jay
Haha, I, too, wonder how other folks stay motivated. What do they know that we mere mortals don't, eh?
Anyway, here's my 2 cents' worth: I try to get involved with projects that are bigger than myself. I'm not sure if it's the social factor or the sense of accountability that makes a difference, but what I do know is that group effort is a lot of fun. And anything that's fun is definitely motivating!
