Letter from the editor

Ready. Set. 2019!

We're not even halfway through November and I'm already talking about 2019. What's up with that?

Each year, usually at the end, we take stock of the things we achieved, the things we started, and the things we didn't follow through on. Once that list has been established, we move on to making plans for the next year. The next year, after all, is going to be the best year ever. We're going to have unlimited amounts of time and energy to expend on a huge laundry list of fun and enriching things to do.

So before you fill out your new, up to today empty, year 2019 with things that don't revolve around writing ... take a moment to make plans for the writing goals you plan to achieve.

Ideas:
- Write every day. (ambitious!)
- Write something finished once a week. (still ambitious, but a little easier)
- Compete in every site sponsored contest. That means once a month. (doesn't sound too hard to accomplish)

- Review every day.
- Review a set number of pieces each week or month.
- Join a reviewing group.

Enroll in one of the year-long writing activities that are offered by members on the site. There are a few to choose from, so take a good look and use your best judgement to see which one would meet that sweet spot of challenging you while being achievable and give you some sweet prizes along the way too.
