Redemption or Retribution? Challenge 11 - Poll
Poll Question:
The Death Penalty
But what then is capital punishment but the most premeditated of murders, to which no criminal's deed, however calculated it may be, can be compared? For there to be equivalence, the death penalty would have to punish a criminal who had warned his victim of the date at which he would inflict a horrible death on him and who, from that moment onward, had confined him at his mercy for months. Such a monster is not encountered in private life. -Albert Camus, writer, philosopher, Nobel laureate (1913-1960

Retribution or Redemption?

For PDG challenge 11
In the last few years in England there have been many prisoners found to be innocent, beyond doubt, of terrorism and murder. They have spent twenty years or more in jail for no reason. If we had still had the death penalty they would have been dead and the injustice never uncovered. In the USA it still exists.

People who have committed heinous crimes, do they deserve death or life?

Do you agree with the death penalty?
Poll Options:
Yes, it acts as a deterrent.
      Yes, some people deserve it.
      No, it is barbaric.
No, keeping them in jail for life is punishment enough.
      I am indifferent.
