Hurricane

It happened quick,
It happened fast,
It came without a warning

Now what once was
Is in the past
And now we are all mourning

Some lost loved ones,
Some survived,
And others still don't know

Some were thrilled
To see police arrive;
Some were proud to see them go

Some lost more
Than simply houses,
And won't be up for weeks

Others lost
Nothing at all
And are already on their feet

Each of us,
We cannot say
That we weren't affected

None of us
Can dare to say
We knew of the unexpected

And so now,
We all need
Too lend an extra hand

If we're are
Wanting to succeed,
We must help each other stand.
