As a child I was told never to talk to strangers. This was very difficult for me, because I was a very bouncy, talkative four year-old. One day I went across the street to a neighbor’s house and started talking away. I started to ask the man under the kitchen sink a million and one questions.
Suddenly, I remembered Grandma’s rule, “Never talk to strangers.” I stood up and started to back up towards the door and asked “Are you a stranger?” To which his reply, accompanied by a big smile, was “No, I’m not a stranger. I’m the plumber.”
