I stare intently into the cold blue
As clear and open as the skies
Sometimes it’s so hard to read
The shifting prose of your eyes

Your arms hold firm
Unwilling to move or sigh
Or even portray the simplest expression
Of a truth, random, or lie

To turn the page of your thoughts
Is difficult, to say the least
Your mind is a hardcover
That hides the page’s crease

There’s something below the surface
Always hidden and abused
But the language that you’ve chosen
Has left me stunted and confused

I once stared intently
Into that endless blue
I tried to make my path through the mind
But the one blocking my path was you.
