There's something about the sestina I find unbelievably compelling. It is regarded as one of the trickier forms of poetry, but to me, writing a sestina seems much more natural than even free verse. The form is both restricting (in its repetons) and very flexible (especially if you choose flexible words for your repetons), plus meter is not a concern. These components combine to form a lovely, rhythmic combination that seizes me and refuses to let go. When I'm stuck for ideas, I reach for the sestina. It has become my form of choice.
