Beautiful Smile

First time I saw you,
the first thing I noticed was your smile.
Brightening up the room.
You laughed and everything changed.
At first I thought you were just a pretty face,
but with that laugh I realized so much.
The smile that belongs to an angel,
a laugh that carries the sound of the wind,
and eyes that shine like the heavens.
Your face promises so much,
and your voice is forever marked on me.

The sun goes down now,
the last of the light betraying me.
I watched you leave,
you laughter trailing behind you.
Almost instantly,
I miss your smile,
your voice,
your face.
Suddenly the world seems drab,
and oh so grey.

But then I remember you,
your beautiful smile,
and everything changes.
