Hidden Spark

I hid my love as I indulged.
I looked for the path, a way to your heart.
As time went by it grew deeper and bulged.
I was ready to explode when you said your part.
I had no idea, although I had hoped.
One day you would find that one hidden spark.
I saw it that day, the first time we spoke.
I felt it right then as you made the remark.

You had grown accustomed to me.
You never tried to push me away.
But was this love really meant to be?
You seemed to be sure, riding on faith.
You jumped in with both feet.
Not really knowing which way you would land.
You wanted to feel something so deep.
You saw something in me, you put out your hand.

We set on a journey, unsure but excited.
We had no idea how far it could take us.
Either flowing or still we stayed united.
Now with our short time we try not to fuss.
We've only just started and I’ve only grown fonder.
Taking each step as the road winds beneath.
We only need each breath making us stronger.
We found each other that hidden spark underneath.
