If only, in a house of 8
If Only

If only there was another hour in the day,
I could spend more time with the kids,
Or write a paragraph to finish a story.

If only there was another day,
An extra day to sit and write or make ,
Not alone, but with my kids.
Poems and stories,
Or crafts to fill our home.

If only there was a bit more money,
To ease the struggle in our house.
I would buy the things they would really enjoy.
A membership of their own,
A computer, to leave mine alone.

If only, only if time were enough.
The children would know and understand,
Before they were grown, of how we can,
Love them, and pray that one day,
Not to far away, when they will be alone (so they think),
And we must sit and watch
Our children's children,
Become grown.
That we did truly care,
And love more than one can compare,
The precious life they have.
