This is a poem describing a failed friendship. Deceit leaves the victim alone.

The Popular Trend By: Allison Buford A small town with a small school Two friends who act like fools We laugh all day We fight, we play Those were great days, but things would be changed I moved from the school, my life rearranged But she followed me to WMS A friend, my friend, the very best A roaring gym of students, they are much too loud I am used to a small 200, not this much of a crowd I cannot find her, my friend I promised to meet That was a fearful moment, but not yet my defeat There were many days that were just as before But over time I found my best friend wanted more She went through groups, dragging me on her way I saw her turning superficial, but she said it was okay Taking me along, I believed that she was true But to her real intentions, I had no clue Slowly but surely she made me a fool My tortuous prison was now called school Her poisonous words stung me deep And after each day I would weep After a while I realized what she wanted And the anger inside me was truly haunted To be popular was her choice And also to extinguish my voice I lost a best friend To the ‘popular’ trend |
