Just a heartfelt poem to my father.
Your responsibilities are already clear,
To be a father when my life draws near.
Now comes your time to step up as a man,
From the second in which my life first began.

As life went on, you started to change,
Breaking a family from which you did estrange.
You took my life and turned it around,
You stole my parachute before I hit the ground.

In my struggle to grow and become a man,
I think of my father who got scared and ran.
As I grew older, I learned so much from you,
That whatever you have done, I shall not do.

I refuse to be a victim of your careless act,
or gain no experience from the loyalty you lacked.
Instead I will do something you could never do,
I will create my family, and to them stay true.

You think I hate you, but I'm not that mad,
I just wanted that priveledge to call you my dad.
I'm sorry that you couldn't take my only request,
And opting to leave, putting us all in unrest.

Now my responsibilities are already clear,
To learn from you by not running in fear.
To take my children and protect them well,
If it means riding shotgun on a trip through hell.

Now as I close, I'll tell you like a man,
You're my father. I'm still your biggest fan.
No matter what, it will always be the same,
You are only victim of my love, and not of my blame.
