A short poem of a love that will never be
You came to me in a dream,
but I never saw you standing there.
I spoke of you often,
but never heard your voice.
You are everything I could have hoped for,
but I noticed only flaws.
I saw you as a low-life;
you saw me as a queen.
If only I could have been able to see your face,
maybe we could of had something.
But instead I kept walking.
Kept talking, having the picture in my head,
the one you could never meet.
So stay in the shadows as I lie in the limelight.
Keep reaching for me,
I will never give you a hand.
Only think of what could have been.
