A Dream……Of Paradise


There was this someone
Sitting alone on the sand
Dreaming of a place
That was a far away land

Not here nor not there
Could expected to be
For this dream of paradise
Was easy to see

Rich with colors & feelings
Good thoughts abound
Beauty & happiness
Along with joyous sounds

A place so far away
Pain or sorrow could not be known
No act of war or killing
Not even a frown

Love, Peace & Harmony
Was always in the air
You could smell it, you could taste it
For it was every where

Why can’t this dream
Materialize to be
For that someone alone on the sand
Happens to be me

But I am not alone
With the desire for this to be true
I know deep down inside
You desire this too

So while I express
In very simple terms
This nightmare of reality
Is like a festering germ

I bet you thought
Upon reading the first line or two
That this was a good feeling poem
Especially for you

But reality sets in
Finds you in this place
It snaps you awake
Like a slap in the face

So sit & dream
As you & I are wanting to do
A dream of paradise

That this current reality…..should be……..too!
