Sweetheart, I'm longing for your caress.
To settle my restlessness,
I take a walk on this lonely midnight
Searching for the same magic moonlight.

Remembering a long ago lunar encounter,
I chase these heady wee hours for another.
Late summer night with sultry breezes,
Recalling our giggles and shared teases,
My spirit stirs with hope for loving bliss
To return on evenings much like this.

Two whippoorwills calling out
Over here, and there about.
Sending sweet messages of love
Is all I seem to be thinking of.
You took my heart to forever keep.
Without you, I can't seem to sleep,
I've been missing you, my sweetheart,
Still after all the years we've been apart.
