love, from beginning to end |
Red rover, red rover, won't you come over? An invitation borne on the breeze. Among the dandelions and sweet clover, we laugh gleefully as we sneeze. Skinny dipping at Jackson's pond. Stolen kisses here and there. Of one another we grew quite fond, while looking for our underwear. Moonlit beaches we strolled along. Dolphins dancing in the sea. Whales bellowing a mournful song, creating an opera for you and me. Tears flowed the day we wed, upon cheeks of pink they cascaded. Soon we'd share a marriage bed A moment in time, eagerly awaited. The honeymoon is to soon over, ten years down the road. Found you with another lover, ripped apart our humble abode! Words zip through the air like poison darts, venom seeping through our veins. To our souls they find their mark, till nothing of us remains. Scent of lilac wafting through the air, memories of long ago times. The pain almost to much to bear. When I was yours and you were mine. In your mind and heart they no longer appear. The moments we shared slowly perished. In my mind's eye, they remain chrystal clear and in my heart, will always be cherished. |
