My eyes tear up
Night and day
Wanting all
To stay away

Don't know what
I can do right.
Can my broken heart
Again take flight?

Can I walk again
With a spirit broken?
Can my mind erase
Cruel words spoken?

Can I live to tell
My tale again?
Will I once more
Walk among men?

Will I get over
My present, my past?
Can I hold on to
Friendships that won't last?

Can I let go
Of the pain I feel?
Can I make it
Seem unreal?

How do I live
When told I should die?
How do I smile
When I want to cry?

How do I go through
A life black as night?
How do I clearly
See through this blind fright?

What do I do
To make it okay?
What must be done
To keep my tears away?

How do I endure
These pains in my heart?
How do I stop sorrow
From tearing me apart?

After years of searching,
And countless tears cried
I found what I needed
To lift my pride.

I found the answer
That makes it okay
I found the solution
To any bad day.

I'll share with you now
What is found that I sought.
Treasure it, keep it,
Disregard it not.

The answer is simple
It's only four words.
And here they are now:
