The knife glistened crimson with fresh blood, a drop falling from the tip onto the corpse below. The badly mangled body steamed in the cool night air. Intestines were strewn in a pile around the body, the torn and empty chest cavity was brutally visable. The man standing over the bocy slowly raised his hand and wiped blood from his lips. With a smile he turned and left the scene of carnage.
"Third body this week, damn, looks like we have a bona fide serial killer on our hands here," Detective Shorn said to one of his fellow officers after examining the scene of the lastest victim.
"What are we going to do, nothing this big has ever happened here. Do you think we'll be able to handle it," the officer replied.
"Of course we will. We'll catch this bastard," Shorn said while getting into his car.
"I hope your right," the officer whispered, turnign back to the scene as Shorn drove away.
