Running Home
Life is a baseball game,
You win some and you lose some.
It’s not always your fault the team struck out.
Then again, sometimes it is.


Regardless, you must get off the bench,
Grab a bat and get in front of the crowd.
Hit the ball as hard as you can, then run till it’s no longer safe.
You may get out, then you must try again but,
Eventually you will hit a home run.


Everyone will stand up and cheer, for that will be your day.
And when the game is over, all the fans have cleared the stands,
You can turn to your team and know, you all did the best you could.
