Many centuries past,
Through its memory still lasts,
God’s son came from the heaven above
To spread amongst men both goodwill & love.
Born in a stable with a bed of hay.
The King of the world was born that fateful day.
And so he grew
To be kind hearted and true.
He spread happiness to the poor,
For them he was the only cure,
He healed the blind and made them see.
He healed the dumb and bade them to
open their mouth and speak with glee.
Miracles he did with his own hands,
And word of him reached distant lands.
But he was sentenced to die on the cross
The people themselves did not realize their loss.
So he died on the cross with a crown of thorn
And as he glared through the crowds he
saw only faces of scorn.
So he died and rose again on the 3rd day.
And “True believers will someday reach God’s abode,” he did say.
And so ended Jesus’ journey on earth,
But he still lives in our hearts to fill the spiritual dearth.
