Poem dedicated to Mother Nature
I stand among the children
Mother Nature bears.
The wind rushing through my hair,
Whistling through her immense fingers,
The trees, ringed with lush greenery.
I smile, watching her children change,
Yet stay constant.
Her rage brightens the sky,
Her tears fall below,
Her wrath blazes the desert,
As her breath swirls.
I smell the salt of the sea
And I glimpse her mountainous bosom.
I feel relaxed.
She wraps her essence
Around my numb form
And comforts me,
Rocking me into slumber.
Her children keep me company.
I need her.
If she vanished,
If Mother Nature disappeared,
Leaving behind barren
Formless, ever constant lands,
I really don’t know if
I could handle the sudden abyss.
I'll end up an empty husk,
Emotionless like the land
That would surround me.
