The darkness that surrounds me,
Seems to overtake my life,
The little things that happen,
Seem to fill my world with strife.
I'm climbing the walls of darkness,
Trying to escape my world of doom,
But everytime I reach the top,
The darkness is there to consume.
I wonder what my life could be,
If only I could escape from here,
If only I could overcome this darkness,
If only I no longer felt fear.
I'm climbing the walls to escape my past,
A past that chases my hopes,
A past that has no forgiveness,
I'm at the end of my rope.
I'm climbing the walls of my past,
Trying to escape my yesterdays,
A past that's so relentless,
It makes tomorrow seem so gray.
I'm looking at these walls of darkness,
Will I ever see the light?
Will my life ever get easier?
Will living always be a fight?
I'm climbing the walls of darkness,
My past is closing in,
I know I have to fight it off,
But will I ever win?
