A true occurance.

The power will blow,
As the lightning strikes near.
That’s not my concern
I have more problems here.
My sweet puppy boy
Is so terrified.
If I wasn’t at home
In the shower he’d hide.

I am here right now
Sitting at the desk.
Trying to type
While he’s being a pest.
He climbs under the desk
Right at my feet.
There's no telling where
I end and we meet.

The noise is distracting
For me that is sure.
But for him he does suffer
For we know of no cure.
His terrifying fright
Worsens each day.
Music and loud noise
Scare him away.

He would climb in my lap
And shake and he’d shiver,
He’d whimper and cower,
And whine and quiver.
The noise is so loud now
He’s heading for the door,
Into the bathroom,
To climb into the bathtub for sure.

It is fading now
The storm has left its fury,
But out of the bathtub
The dog is in no hurry.
Oh, here he comes now.
Crawling back to join me
Oh what can I do
To end his misery
