The water is a dark sapphire,
Many walk the glorious depths,
The water there is so clear,
It almost seems to illuminate,
The sun shines behind them and they stride,
The brilliant rays define they’re glory,
The sand stirring beneath they’re feet,
Bubbles rise to the surface,
But they do not need air,
For they are walking the depths,
They are pure and have such powerful souls,
They are deep.
I float on the ocean’s foamy surface,
The gulls soar above me,
As the salt water fills my mouth,
I cannot breathe, but I need air,
The taste is unholy and impure,
My thoughts and vocabulary are vague,
I cannot articulate,
When I do strive,
I cannot walk the depths,
I am unlike them,
They are practically perfect and absolutely unique,
Who am I to call myself a poet?
When so many others have such a beautiful depth,
And breathtaking creativity
One day I will be able to walk the depths,
To be able to call myself a writer,
And believe the words,
Until that day I shall try my best,
I will study out of my own will.
