Writing.com's personal addition to Christine Feehan's Dark series.
[Introduction]
This is a continuation of Christine Feehan's Dark Series. This features the story of Antionette Savage and Joseff Molnov.
Belived to be dead by her brothers and the rest of her kind, Antionette lives in peace without fear of being haunted by the demands of a lifemate and her brothers. Hundreds of years ago, Julian's vampire induced rejection of her led to her decision to escape her kind and live as an indepenent woman, a feat unheard of within Carpathians. As years go on, she becomes aware of the ability to convert psychic women and the addition of three female children, yet she is unwilling to come out of hiding and reveal herself. Living from one continent to another, she spends her time working with the great masters of art, from Manet to Picasso to Pollack. As her personal work grows, she struggles to hide her individualistic style from revealing her longetivity to humans and arousing the suspicians the Prince. Yet, as she lives in peace, back in the Carpathian Mountains another plot against the Prince is grows.
Joseff Molnov fought for cernturies, with himself as well as his four brothers who turned long ago. Caught in a moment of weakness, he is now prisoner to his younger brother Fransisco. Instead of killing the hunter, Fransisco seeks to turn his brother vampire, using thier combined powers to once and for all eliminate Mikhail.
With the plot against Mikhail thickening, the only thing to save Mikhail and the hope for thier kind lies in the hands of Antionette.
Adian let out a small sigh as his eyes traveled around the art around him. His lifemate Alexandra had wanted to attend this gallery opening. She was quite the fan of this artist, this MALE artist he thought bitterly.
"His work is quite mystical," Alexandra teasinly said as she came up behind him. He pulled her under the shelter of his arm and playfully nipped at her neck.
"I am the only mysical one in your life," he replied with a definate snap of his teeth.
"You seem depressed tonight," Alexandra said, revealing she had been a shadow in his mind.
"The art reminds me of her," Adian replied with a sigh.
"Her?" Alexandra replied jealously.
"My sister, she was quite the artist."
"You never told me you had a sister," Alexandra said.
"She died hundreds of years ago, around the time we lost all of our women and children."
"Oh Adian! If I knew, I wouldn't of brought you here."
He smiled and kissed her brow.
"I would do anything for you, picoola."

Antionette Savage was in the gallery looking at the people who has showed up for this opening. She had always tried to act like human, think and act like one. So, she wouldn't breing the undead to her. She smiled.
"Antionette. The gallery is being a lot of people." Said the owner, Allen Owen, with his Cultured British accent. Allen has Short but thick honey-colored Hair. His Brown eyes found her Dark ginger eyes. A slow sexy smile was growing on his face. One couple with four kids and two men past them by. They were standing by the entertance.
"Yes, It is good. I love art. Ever since I was little, I loved it." She said as she smiled. She looked around the room and her eyes landed on a couple. The man has long blonde hair and so did his wife.
Allen took in her scent of Spiced Apples deep into his lungs so that her scent in his lungs for all time. Allen was taking the sight of her. She has Shoulder-length Silvery-Blonde Hair that goes good with her Ivory Skin. She had trim waist, slim hips, slender legs. His scent,Outdoors, Horses, Coconut was swarling around her. He was wearig a DarkGray T-Shirt with blue jeans and Black cowboy boots. He has his Black Leather Coat in his left hand.
Antionette knew she had seen this man before but does not know where or when. She looked at Allen then ran a hand through her hair. He pulled to her to his athletic, tall, hard Well built frame. He swept his arm around Antionette, pulling her beneath his shoulder protectively, close to the warmth of his really tanned six foot frame. His eyes swept along her body hotly. She was wearing a see-through Japanese blue-green blouse with Navy skirt. She was wearing sandles. He could almost see the Pale blue lace bra underneath.
His hand was traceing her Reddish Gray Cloak w/ thin silver embroidery, vines w/ small apples, went Straight down in the middle. She looked in to his mesmerizing eyes.
"Umm....Allen. You see that couple over there, by the hallway that goes to the staries?" She asked him. Allen looked where she had said.
"Yes, I do. What about them?" He repiald to her.
"Well, I think I know that person." She said as her best friend, Nynaeve Mosvani, came up to them. Nynaeve looked at Allen.
"There is a phone call for you." She told Allen. Allen smiled at her then kissed Antionette. His kiss was soft, inviting. His tongue went to her lips and her tongue touched his. His tongue was stroking along her tongue. Her tongue felt her teeth. Hot molten heat was rushing through him. She rubbed his teeth with her tongue. He made a deep moan, kind of like a wolf moaning. His tongue was exploring the velvet interior of her month. Her month was making him be on fire. He wanted her so much. Antionette broke the kiss.
"You better get the call." She said as he bowed to them then began to walk to his office. "Nynaeve, You see that couple over there, by the hallway that goes to the staries?" She told her. Nynaeve looked and her jaw dropped.
"Are you talking about that hunk of a man over their with the blonde?" She asked breathly. She couldn't take her eyes of him.
"Yes, them." Anitonette said as she smiled. Nynaeve's eyes was getting ready to popped out of her head.
"Lets go meet them." Nynaeve said as she grabbed her hand and began to dragged her.

All at once, his scent hit her. The scent of the night, of running with the wolves and of a pure primal male. It was Adian, her older brother.
She cursed her carelessness, she should've picked up on his scent a mile away. This was his hunting territiory, buy the sea had been calling to her, she couldn't help the risk. The woman with him must have been his lifemate. She sighed in releif; for hundreds of years she feared that her brothers wouldn't find their lifemates.
Adian hadn't spotted her yet, proving that she had become quite adapt at acting human, even escaping suspicians of even the most gifted of hunters.
"Oh, I'd better go check on Allen," Antionette replied, slipping from her friend's grasp. She usually would've used a small mental "push", but she couldn't afford using any power. A hunter as skilled as Adian would easily pick it up. She was already on barrowed time.
Before Nyaeve could reply, Anitonette was gone. She walked past the office where Allen was taking his call. She felt a her stomah turn as she remembered his kiss. Usually, she could allow her affection for him to override her natural aversion to his intimate touch. She was a borne and bred Carpathian female, and knew intimacy would only be comfterable if it was with her destined lifemate.
She mentally shut the door on that thought. She knew from a young age she wasn't cut out to be anyones lifemate. Females of her race were prisoners, first of their family then of thier lifemate. True they were well loved and cared for, but a prison was still a prison.
Quietly she slipped out the back door, praying she had gone unnoticed by Adian.

Hundreds of miles away, Joseff Malnov prayed for death as his younger brother Francisco stalked toward him. Francisco, like his other brothers, had turned not long after thier Prince Vlad sent them to Asia to hunt. His vow to destroy them all was all that kept him from turning or seeking the dawn. Despite the strong will of his honor, the beast inside of him was growing daily, demanding to be released.
"You fight so needlesly, brother," Francisco said, "the freedom is more intoxicating then you've ever imagined."
"I will carry out the justice of our Prince," Joseff replied.
Fracisco's head tilted to one side, "you are in no position to threaton me, brother."
Joseff stuggled against the manacles which held him prisoner. Usually, he could break free of them as if they were dried wax, but Franciso had drained nearly all of his blood, rendering him as weak as an infant.
The woman in front Franciso whimpered, he kicked her midsection, rolling her closer to Joseff.
"Drink, and experience the power."
Joseff knew that if he touched his woman, in his raggad state, he would kill her. Yet that didn't stop his fangs from growing, from the red haze to glow behind his dark eyes.
"Yes, brother, it will be all over soon."

Nicolas and Zacarias De La Cruz were travleing where Joseff Malnov is is being held prisoner. They felt the earth screaming with pain. Nicolas got really low to the ground then landed. While he landed, he traform into his true form. Zacarias landed next to him then traform into his true form. Nicolas looked around. They were standing by a meadow. They found a house in the middle of no where. The house was in the meadow on the east side. The vampire was in the house. Zacarias made the wind blow hard.
The clouds were thick and dark. Zacarias used his voice to get the vampire out.

Fancisco gave a low snarl as the hunters approached. A pair of De La Cruz brothers, their former kin. Joseff was so close to turning, he could see the red haze beind Joseff's eyes, and if it wasn't for thier intrusion Joseff would have drank. At the sound of thier seductive voice, Fracisco hissed and pulled Joseff's limp body deep underground. He would return with his fully turned brother to wreck havoc on the Carpathian race.

Antionette finally settled on a cemetary. It was near sunrise and see needed to seek the ground. All night she traveled, afraid that Adian would discover her and soon follow her. She'd sped away into the night until wearly, he spied a cemetary and settled herself underground. Her travels led her to Europe, very close to the Carpathian mountains. She lay in the soil, contemplating her choice to get this close to home. Of course she'd been to Europe, but never this close to home. The risk had been to great.
Yet, she felt a...pull of some sort. Her excersion to San Fransico was an attept to hinder that pull. Now, especially since she was so close, she could feel the building tention. Something was going to happen.

Joseff was shaking with need. It had been weeks since he last fed and slept in the soil. His brother would chain him standing up against hard rock in his lair before seeking the ground when the sun hit. Every day, Joseff would shut down his heart and lungs only to awake to agonizing hunger and pain.
He felt his fangs sharpen as he absently ran his tounge over them. Fransico came in with another women to tempt Joseff to take the dark bite that would turn him.
The red haze began to build, his inner beast tearing and ripping inside for release.
"Do not fight it," Francisco urged, shoving the woman within Joseff's reach.
Joseff ground, and finally lost control.
"Forgive me," his whispered, and drank.

"Forgive me."
Those anguished words tore Antionette from her deep sleep. She burst from the soil and looked about. She was alone. Desperatly, she traced the mental path, but it was to no avail. Who was that? She had no private mental paths with any of her kind, that was essentail to her survival in the outside. But someone had connected with her.
She shiverred as she looked off in the distance where she could begin to make out her homeland. Something wasn't right, and she would have to go back and warn thier Prince.

Joseff Molnov looked around at the cave that he has been in for day. He remembered that he had drank. He thought he lost control but he didn't. He was very happy.
He knew that his brother was still asleep. The moment the sun goes down, he will wake. He sent out a mental help on the common mental path of his kind.
He had lost hope to Nicolas and Zacarias De La Cruz to find him. The sun was going down. Only hour and half to go. Joseff knew that he had to leave this place.
He was at full strength but he was still weak. He still need the healing sleep. There a chain around his right ankle. He looked around the cave to see if their is a hole to escaped. He was seeing in red. He was very very close to turning.

Adian seen Nynaeve Mosvani with another woman, who turned and ran. There was something about that woman with Shoulder-length Silvery-Blonde Hair. He has a feeling that she was his sister. He turned to his lifemate and smiled.
"I think we found her." He told Alexandra.
I see her." She said.
Hours later, They landed 50 miles from the cemetery where Antionette landed. They kept up with her and stayed well behind her. So they would not be seen. Adian knew that they were very close to their home land, to their prince.
The sun was still up. Adian scanned the area and found that they were alone and his sister had already left. He looked to his lifemate.
"Wake up." He said in a seductive voice. Alexandra's heart began to beat and her lungs began to fill with air. Her eyes opened up. Adian opened the earth.
The moment their feet touched the ground, Adian heard the mental help from a hunter. Adian knew the hunter was in trouble. He looked at Alexandra.
“Go to the prince now. A hunter is in major need of other hunters. That is very rare. Go now.” He said in a sweet, calm voice.
‘I will, my love. We will find your sister. Don’t worry.’ Her voice shimmered in his mind. He smiled at her. Alexandra pictured a red-tailed hawk in her mind. Her body turned into one. The hawk stood on the ground then took off into the air. Great big wings lifted the tiny bird into the air. She headed into the night, to the prince. Adian watched her then pictured an owl in his mind and held on the to image. He lifted himself into the darkening sky, towards the cave where Joseff is being held prisoner.

Nicolas and Zacarias De La Cruz cursed there carelessness. They felt Joseff’s need of help. Nicolas looked at his brother then his form turned into a wolf.
‘Let’s go now.’ Nicolas’s voice was in Zacarias’s head. He did the same. The wolves took off through the forest to the cave.
They saw Adian standing in front of the cave. The brothers landing on two feet on the ground, shifted into his natural form. They were to going to get Joseff out, No matter what.

Antoinette was on the door step to Mikhail Dubrinsky’s home. She rang the door bell. She waited for a moment then the door open. The prince stood there with a hardened fierce look on his face.
“Mikhail. I’m Antionette Savage. I came here to warn you. In Apuseni Mountain Range, there is a bad vib.” She said in a worried voice.
There was a rumble within the earth as the sun finally set. The soil moaned in pain as evil seeped out of the poures.
Before Antionette could react, Mikhail pulled her into the safety of the house with Raven and Jaques and his lifemate.
"Stay here," He said and dissolved into the air with Jaques behind him.

Joseff rolled on the ground, his call for help came too late. The red haze was building as the beast inside of him was unleashed. Very calmly he stood up, mentally ordering Francisco to release him. His normaly black, souless eyes glowed red as they looked around the cave.
"How do you feel, brother?"
"Free" Joseff growled.
"Now it's time to finally take our throne over the world, with you leading us."
Joseff's eyes showed no reaction, he simply burst from the ground, mentally calling all vampire nearby. The war between vampire and Carpathian began.
Mikhail and the other hunters gathered, their senses scanning the areas as they calculated their enemies numbers.
"Mikhail, you must get out of here," Geregori ordered.
"I will stay," Mkhail simply replied.
As he finished, tenticals burst through the soil, searching for Mikhail.
He quickly dissolved into mist, as did the others. From the east came a legion of vampires, led by Joseff and Fracisco.
Chaos broke loose as both vampire and hunter met for battle. This was far more organized and stronger of an attak since the last one, led by another Malnov brother. With the two Malnov brothers leading them, the Carpathian's had little chance.

Antionette paced the length of the room, avoiding the looks of Raven, Savanna and Shea. All of them were very young and relatively new to the race, and didn't know about her.
"You're one of us," Raven finally remarked.
"Yes, I'm Antionette Savage," she replied, "Adian and Julian's younger sister."
"Neither have told me about you," Savanna commented.
"They belived that I was killed around the time when our race lost many of our women and children. I chose to escape and live my own life outside of the Carpathian realm."
Outside they heard the commotion of the battle, and a distinctive roar caught Antionette's ear.
"Oh my god, what have I done," she whsipered to herself before bolting out the door.

"Your reign had ended, Mikhail," Joseff growled as he shifted around the Prince.
Mikhail stayed silent as he quietly mirrored Joseff's patterned footsteps. A tenticle ripped out of a tree, seeking Mikhail. Before he could dissolve more ripped from the ground, ripping into his flesh.
"Keep the healer occupied," Joseff ordered Francisco as he slowly glided around the prince while he fought off the tenticles, waiting for a clear shot.
With savage delight it came. His hand shot out to pull out Mikhail's heart, but in a whirl, his fist plunged not into Mikhail's, but a woman's.
Blood red tears ran down his face as he looked into her blue eyes. Blue eyes, he was seeing in color. In disbelif he looked down to see red blood seeping out of her chest where his fist was buried deep.
Her breaths began to slow, he could feel her spirit drift away.
"No," he murmured, letting out a blood-curtiling scream. All fighting stopped as both Carpathian and Vampire watched as Joseff's red eyes shifted back into the black Carpathian.
Quickly he shut down her body, stopping the flow of blood as he slowly retracted his fist.
He was the only one who moved. The vampires began to retreat; without Joseff as thier leader, they had no chance to win.
He gathered her up into his arms, "You cannot leave me," he ordered.
With the rest of the vampires gone, the hunters began to gather around him.
He growled, before turing to Gregori.
"Heal her, if she dies, all of our kind dies,"
Gregori's body shifted, placing his body inbetween Joseff and Mikhail as his silver eyes quietly assesed the situation. The woman Joseff cradled in his arms was a full-blooded carpathian, a treasure to thier people.
"Put her down and step away," Gregori ordered, his words wrapped all who heard in silk. Other warriors began to encompass them, ready to strike should Joseff make the wrong move.
Joseff hissed, his lips curling back to reveal his fangs as he stared back at Gregori.
"Your woman has little time," Gregori added.
Joseff was torn, his natural possessive instinct screamed to take her away from this male's touch, but such an act would kill her. He looked down at her angelic face, no longer alive and healthy but as pale as death.
Kissing her tenderly on her forehead, he gently placed her in the welcoming arms of the soil, stood up and backed away.
Cautiously, Gregori kneeled down and begen to asses the damage. Other hunters flanked his side, all eyes steadily on Joseff.
With a deep breath, Gregori entered her body and began to repair the damage.
Indeed, her chest cavity and heart were torn to shreds, the damage capable of killing even the strongest of hunters. She sheid away from him, attemting to seek eternal rest although he felt Joseff, holding her tightly to the earth.
Despite it all, Gregori knew she must be saved, although whether or not the Prince will allow Joseff to keep her was yet to be determined.
Gregori worked tirlessly for many hours until he withdrew from her body and swayed with wearyness.
"She needs blood," he mentally communicated with Mikhail.
Lucian stepped foreward, rolling up his sleeve to provide.
"Get away from her!" Joseff hissed, "I will provide for my lifemate."
"Your blood is tainted and will kill her," Gregori replied.
Joseff didn't respond, but couldn't help growling as Lucian's blood fed his mate.
He felt her cry of pain as Lucian's blood began to rebuild her torn organs, the pain nearly unbearable. However he was unrelenting and held her into this world, unwilling to let her go. It was this fight for her life that kept his sanity, if something were to go wrong then he would become vampire again, this time his grief and rage would be unstoppable.
All the hunters felt the pricks of initial daylight, but waited for Mikhail's command.
"She must go to ground and heal, I've done all that can be done," Gregori finally said.
"She will go to ground with us," Julian delcaired, meaning with himself and his lifemate's band.
Joseff growled, "she goes with me."
"As her brother-"
"You deny my claim?" Joseff interrupted.
"Your claim is void," Julian replied with equal savagery.
Joseff merely tilted his head, his black eyes looking over his adversay. Julian was but a child to him compared to his nearly two thousand years of existance.
"She goes with me," he said again, his voice laced will the push and persuasion within his power.
The tention built as the warriors faught his hypnotic gaze. The air crackled with electricity.
"Please, stop." A small voice rose.
All suprised eyes settled on Antionette as her eyes fluttered open and she looked from the group of warriors to Joseff.
"I will go with him," she whispered.
Julian opened his mouth to protest, but Gregori silenced him with a look. If she struggled with them it would drain what precious energy she had to survive.
She closed her eyes and swallowed painfully.
The warriors stepped back as Joseff lifted her into her arms.
"You will bring her back once she is healed," Mikhail ordered.
Joseff paid him no attention as he sent her to sleep and quickly sped off to a healing cave, knowing the rich soil would speed up her healing.
He opened the earth and floated down into the bed with her, simultaniously shedding both of thier clothes. He held her body tighly as the soil closed over them.
It would be many weeks before he would allow her to rise again, with the ravages of her body it was a miricle she was alive.
Curving his body protectively over her, he set many guards first around the cave they were in then many stronger ones around thier resting spot. Finally with a sigh of relief, he settled down around her and allowed sleep to take him.
As the sun began to recede into the mountains, deep within the earth Joseff's eyes snapped open and air rushed into his lungs. They had lain beneath the ground for a little over a month, hopefully enough time to release his lifemate from the soil. Looking over her delicate features, he searched her entire body, finding the healer's work impeccable. She was healed, but he still intened to watch over her closely. Shifting focus, he drew into his own body, searching for any lasting print of his decsent into madness. If the healer's words were true, his blood may be tainted and he could easily transfer it to her. He observed every minute detail of every organ, bloodstream and cell. It seemed as if there were no differences. Having hunted for two thousand years, he was aware of the microbes that lived within the undead blood, but failed to find any within himself. Relieved that he would be able to provide for his lifemate, he rose from the soil and with one last look at his lifemate, he closed the soil over her and sped out of the cave. Once in town, he found four strong young men and began to drink deeply. Not only had he gone without for over a month, but he also had to provide for his lifemate. After taking enough, he wiped thier memories and gently set them on the ground. Inhaling deep, he stood up and looked around, taking color in for the first time. His homeland was a beautiful place, and for the first time he was able to truly experience it, not relive a memory of long ago.
"Where is Antionette?!" A male snapped at him as he materialized a few yards away. Joseff recognized him as his lifemate's sibling. Both shared the unique trait of blond hair.
Antionette, Joseff rolled the name around in his head. A beautiful name, perfect for his lifemate with her firey blond hair.
"She is still resting, I will wake and provide for her soon," he replied evenly as more men appeared.
Gregori materialized, placing his body between Joseff's and the Savage brothers, it mattered little to him if they attacked Joseff, but not until after they locate Antionette.
"You will taint her blood," Gregori said, his silver eyes boring into Joseff's.
"I have inspected myself, there are no traces of the undead."
"The prince orders she be brought to him, and you cannot provide for her until we are certain," Gregori informed him, revealing Mikhail was "seeing" the whole even through Gregori.
"So that you may kill me and force her to live without a lifemate?" Joseff replied mildly.
Both Julian and Adian shifted, it would give them great pleasure to be the executioners.
"You have broken the laws of our people," Gregori replied, then paused as Mikhail spoke to him mentally.
"Mikhail is willing to give you a fair trial, but only because of Antionette," Gregori added.
"Please release me," a small voice whispered in his mind, so weak he could barely hear it. How could she be awake? He had commanded her not to wake till he called her. Using the same mental path, he reached out to her. She tried to pull away, but she was no match for his strength. Mentally he pulled her into his arms, all the while searching her body. She was simply weak from lack of blood, once he provided she would be fine.
"If you will excuse me, gentleman, my lifemate calls to me," he said.
"I will accompany you and take her to the prince," Gregori replied.
"No." Joseff needed to be alone with her, explain things to her. If not, these men may cause irrepirable damage to his relationship with her. In the end they may be allowed to stay together, but she will spend eternity viewing him as a monster.
