Introspective poem entwined by tangible moments and fleeting emotion |
Calm clarity of the sky's reflection on an ocean's surface at sunrise masking its dark, murky depths and temperamental nature that bulges at the slightest breeze Overbearing malice of an approaching thunder storm Loneliness of a deserted interstate on Christmas Eve's eve Dim buzzing of a dying street light in an empty alley Aged and faded wallpaper of a cheap motel room Rustling of grass in an abandoned field Muffled sobs of a broken hearted child Swirling of leaves on a gray Autumn's day Waning of summer and summer spirits Ascension of sorrow in an aimless heart Ragged tears for a lover's heart lost or never possessed Mangled emotions hidden in the vast labyrinth of a poet's psyche Caressed by velvet tears Obsolete to the world Languorously jaded Dangerously alive inside, yet heeded by none Haunted by memories of seclusion and isolation Entwined with mind but yet to conquer heart and soul All the little kisses, all the pretty horses, all the car and truck fetishes, all the insightfulness Rampant tears mingle with the shower's torrential downpour upon a hanging head of hopelessness Trampled, torn, tangled, tortured evermore |
