a poem about overcoming depression.
         The Birds In My Heart

The birds in my heart, never sing anymore,
The sun of my soul doesn't shine,
The wings of my spirit, are refusing to fly,
And my blood is like vinegar-wine.

This torrmenting pain, is becoming my friend,
         Since the happiness isn't around,
         And the hope,
         That I had,
Has been quenched by my tears,
And I doubt it will ever be found.

So, now what do I do?
         Do I cowardly bow?
         To this evil depression,
         That holds me somehow?
Do I just let it take me,
' Till my senses are numb?
Is it too late to pray,
         For an answer to come?

         No! I won't accept this,
         I'll never give up,
         My cup may be empty,
         But it's my empty cup,

         It may not be easy,
         But I'll never lose sight,
         I still have my will,
         And it's willing to fight!
