The land of black gold
Essence of the desert became the land of senseless ghosts

The epoch where humility
became arrogance
The shepherd’s heard, transformed into an auto park
Souls gone astray -

Abayas; shapeless black coverings
means to be invisible and safe
Sanctuary transformed, into promiscuous
lush & profuse outfits

The Mosque is vacant,
deserted & abandoned.
Egos & dead souls on a quest
in Mall’s where anything is for sale

I love the country, but can’t stand the scene
despairing consequences from progress

I’m checking out, but can’t leave
