Thanks for the liberty!

Through powerful write, a nation was born.
A room full of men, allegiances sworn.
Men are all equal, no power of one.
By its own people this country shall run!

With freedom for all and justice as well.
Liberty born with the ring of a bell.
Treasons committed, the King read aloud,
Summon my Generals, bring me my shroud!

A war now declared, the fleet on the way.
Patriots gather, in churches they pray.
One lantern for land, two lanterns by sea.
They stand tall and proud, remembering tea.

A single shot heard that no one had seen,
This great war had started at Lexington Green.
Some battles were won, some battles were lost.
George Washington's men, the Delaware crossed.

The British were strong, the Americans shrewd.
Surrender at Yorktown, the end of the feud.
A new country born, those men who gave all.
The Star Spangled Banner waves high for all.
