It Feels Good To Be Back Home

As I stepped down from the train,
Autumn wind on my face.
I saw my friends and family,
With much embrace.

As I see her running to me,
I have to smile.
I've still been loving her,
Over thousands of miles.

It's good to be back home.

"I'll be back home soon."
They all had read.
"I love you all."
Were the last words that I said.

I left you and my home,
To go fight in the war.
As all watched painfully,
I walked out the door.

It's good to be back home.

But I made a promise,
That I would return.
To all your beautiful faces,
That I now yearn.

But now I'm back,
and here to stay.
And I watched,
As they buried me underneath the ground where I lay.

It's good to be back home.
