A drunk driver that kills a girl with his mistakes
Staring into the oncoming headlights tonight
I can’t seen to tear my eyes away from it all
All of a sudden there are screeching brakes
My car slides into another coming right at me

Suddenly there’s a paramedic standing over me
He telling an officer that I was driving drunk
But what hurt me was when he said I’d killed a girl
She was only sixteen and had just started to drive

I opened my eyes and stared up at them both
I tried to say I was sorry but the words wouldn’t come
They just looked at me and shook their heads in disappointment
I heard a man scream that I was going to die on this here road

I thought of what I’d done to an innocent girl
But then began to think of my father and mother
I wondered how they’d take the news of my death
I’d forgotten about the life I’d taken just moments ago

Blood streamed down my face and covered the blacktop
I just stared at it carefully and wondered where I was going
I wanted to say how sorry I was but nothing seemed right
Why couldn’t I have stayed at the party and fell asleep

I had to prove I was man enough to drive plastered
But now I see that was a huge mistake on my part
What would the girl’s parents say when they heard
Heard that their daughter was killed by a boy’s mistake

I felt so dizzy suddenly and wonder if this was it
But yet a thought kept creeping into my mind
Did the girl feel any pain like I am right now
The pain feels like its piercing my body with knives

The world is spinning as the paramedics kneel down
They’re trying to get me out of this demolished car
But it’s too late cause I’m fading away fast and hard
Suddenly my world goes black and cold for the first time

There was no time left to say I’m sorry or anything
Now no one will know my last and final feelings
But yet I wondered if I truly deserved to die this way
Then I remember I killed that girl by my stupid mistakes
