A story written in the form of a poem. My remake of a classic tale.
So dark on the inside; pale on the out
Her panic subsided, but beginning to mount
Ascending the steps; rickety they were
Encircled by trees, nothing but fir

The air was thick and there was fog now
'How will I make it?' she thought, 'somehow'
Holding the door knob, only a quarter turn was needed
But with her trembling hands she was surprised she succeeded

Opened wide now, she could see it all
The small bedroom doors and the endless hall
All the corners shown shadowed and dark
The house completely furnished, yet some how stark

Going to the first door she saw on her right
Cracked open the door and gasped at the sight
There on the bed lay a creature asleep
She closed the door back without even a peep

Moving on to the next door she saw
Repeating the process she started to bawl
Inside she cried, not showing her emotion
Closing the door and on to the next with true devotion

Again the bed was not empty, she realized in dismay
She thought for a second then whispered
"With whom will I play?"
