God is Real

God is Real.

Such a simple truth, but one that people want to complicate. I do not understand how people can see the birth of a baby, see the beauty in nature and not believe God is real.

God tells me that if I will seek Him that I will find Him when I seek Him with all my heart. (Jeremiah 29:13). Let's look at this simple truth. Have you ever had to find your car keys? Did you sit down and say, "I need to find my car keys." and then just sit there? Or did you actually go look through your coat, your purse, your house ... searching for your keys?

God says that we will find Him when we seek Him with all of our heart. That means ... go look. Go search. The cool thing about God is that He is there with you. He's not off watching you look, He's helping you look because He wants to be found!

So what do you do? Tell God ... "God, if you are real, show me. Make yourself real to me." Then go get a bible. Any bookstore carries a bible ... get one that's easy to read. If you can't afford to buy one, call a church. I'm sure they would be happy to give you a bible. And start reading...check out the book of John in the New Testament (there is a Table of Contents in the front of the bible). Also start noticing the people that He puts in your path. They are there for a reason.

I had a name and number of a young man who had visited our church for the first time. I called him to welcome him and to see if he had any questions. When I told him who I was, he got all excited and said, "Wow, it's you." I'm thinking, 'Do I know this man? The name doesn't look familiar." Then he went on, "I was just sitting here talking about God with my roommate and I said that if He is real, He really needs to do something and then you called." I just laughed and said, "Yes, He's real." He wanted to know if he could ask me some questions, and we talked for about 20 minutes and then I prayed for him. It was not an accident that I picked that day and time to call him.

Expect God to act. Take Him on His word ... You will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart. And get ready for the ride of your life!

"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better." Ephesians 1:17
