I wish I had a halo to protect me
From the gloom of inerasable memories.
Instead of the halo hovering above my head,
I’d wish it to fall over my face; blinding my eyes.
I beg you to blind my soulless spirit,
To defend my ignorance and naivety,
So I can safely live my life
And peacefully sleep tonight,
To dream of a long lost touch.
Blind my experienced prospect.
Because I don’t want to witness,
What I have now become,
Inside my empty tomb
Of ancient ruined thoughts.
Instead I’m wide awake,
Feeling and visioning all,
All the fears and all the worries,
All the raised eyebrows and the lack of smiles.
The tunnel vision mishaps of my vain world,
Directing its injustice towards the qualified.
Blind the eyes to the blood and tears,
Of distressed forgotten ones,
Vainly teaching themselves to shine again.
Blind the eyes of damaged souls,
Of deep wallowing self pity,
Attempting to reach out for another guiding hand.
