A tale of courage, with several layers of meaning.
Prowl of the Lioness

A lone deer stands
On the edge of,
Harsh desert plains.
The journey across
Long,
Can one pass?

He hears the roar
Echoing throughout the plain.
With fear and trembling,
He takes his first
Step,
Out of security.

Not a tree in sight.
Death, everywhere around him,
Enveloped in expectation,
In fear of
Pain.
A misunderstanding?

Slowly, walk through time.
Looking back for trouble.
Shadows of clouds closer,
Fear taking hold,
Faster.
Behind given too much thought.

The unknown to great to bear.
The known not enough
To comfort a lost soul.
Then from nowhere,
Chase
Lioness against deer.

Race against the best.
The lone deer stands no
Chance, but lioness pauses,
A false pretence.
Danger
Still close at hand.

Deer is tired now.
Thinking dangers have passed
Rests his head, his
Mind wanders, shadows
Close in,
Lioness is Prowling

Pounce, deer and lion,
Trade blow for blow.
Will deer escape now,
Or doomed fate of,
Dinner
For lioness

Out done, edge of life
But to his aid comes,
A friend from afar.
Together they fight,
Escape.
Lioness alone.

Deer is safe now.
Crimson fields behind,
And clear skies ahead.
But still forever,
Lioness,
Attacks in spirit.
