Her daughter wants her to be happy again.
I sat at the the kitchen table drinking my morning cup,

When my daughter came into the room,

She was starring at me, I could see her when I looked up,

"Good Morning Sleepy Head"

Her face looked really sad,

I had to put my cup down after what she said.

She said" How am I supposed to smile? When you never do?"

" I know he made you cry ,

when he walked out on you"

"sometimes when your in your room at night, I can hear you pray"

" I think you should ask God to make you happy,

I can help you with what to say",

"Can't you see?"

" I don't want to see you sad anymore"

" Mama, don't you wanna smile for me?"

So, I sat back and looked at her, one so young and so smart,

She's only 5 years old,

I guess it would be obvious to say that it broke my heart,

Such honest words from someone who loves me so much,

I can't believe how fragile she is and how selfish I've been,

I was using this pain as a crutch,

I hugged her and I kissed her cheek,

I have so much to live for and be happy about,

I don't want her to see me this weak,

I promised her that I would smile,

and as her eyes starred into mine,

I felt something I haven't felt in awhile,

I felt happy for this day,

I felt glad to be alive,

I didn't care that you didn't stay,

Tonight when I say my prayers, I say all the things she told me to say,

and I add a few more,

I can't wait to see what happens the next day,

This is a life I wouldn't trade,

I am gonna smile for her.

I have a wonderful daughter, my love for her will never fade.
