a collision of different personalities in the sweetest way possible
                                            Raoul

Tall dark and handsome guys never looked her way, and neither did Raoul Rodriguez.  Italian/Indian stud whose shoulder length, wavy, black hair fell into his hazel eyes.  Raoul had dark thick lashes, with even darker winged eyebrow.  He had the stereotypical Indian hawk nose; it looked like it had been broken on several accounts.  One could probably say Raoul's best feature was his lips, full and wide, they looked like ripe berries, he had the kind of lips that made one think of kissing to oblivion.
Raoul’s lips looked feminine, their softness and plumpness; one could call Raoul himself pretty because he was so handsome.  He had high cheekbones, with one dimple in his left cheek, square jaw, tall, and 6ft 1inch.  Raoul had big shoulder, and the tight t-shirt he wore showed the corded muscle of his arm and chest.  His stomach was so flat that one could guess he probably had a 6 pack. Riah thought he was the perfect male specimen, she loved the way his tan skin glowed, the way his dimples went in like a crescent shaped moon.  She liked the way he laughed, it was so contagious, it made you want to laugh along with him or smile.
Raoul was the pretty boy/ player.  He was intimidating, the way he looked at you was piercing, his right ear was pierced, he had a skull hanging from it.  He had a tattoo on his neck and one on his arm, a silver necklace on his neck and a wristband.  He was a big guy, but lean, his hand was big, but when he smiled that sideways, he's lips made him look more approachable.  A guy like Raoul never looked her way, if he did, it was absent or looking over her head, when they had group projects he would copy off her, but never remember her name.
She was the girl who sat in the middle of the class, drowned in by all.  Her sleek raven black hair fell to her shoulders; her heavy bangs fell onto her Harry Potter glasses.  Her glasses made her eyes look buggy and big, but they were her best feature, an unusual lilac color, rimmed with thick dark lashes and an even thicker dark eyebrow that almost touched.  Her nose was tiny; her lips small and round, her heart shaped face went down to long swan like neck.  She usually sat by herself, not because she was considered weird or that she was a geek, but because she didn’t like being bothered.
She wasn’t outspoken, she was always quiet and usually reading some romance novel.  She wasn’t the smartest person in class, she was just average really.  She didn’t stand out and didn’t like being the center of attention, yet when people first met her, they were mesmerized.  Her features weren’t ordinary.  She was mixed, Malaysian and Black, she was comfortable with herself, but like everyone else, there were certain things she wished she could change about herself.  Her skin was a rich dark brown, and a lot of times she’d look at herself in the mirror and found features which she thought were beautiful.
The bell rang; she packed her bags ready to leave, when Mr. Burg called her name.
“And Raoul, I need to talk to you too”
Riah wanted to leave, she didn’t want to stay, it took an hour to get to her house, she really wasn’t trying to miss her bus.
“Raoul, you're failing my class, if you fail my class you will not graduate” Mr. Burg said looking steely at Raoul who looked bored already.
“I been doing my work…” Raoul said
“And you haven’t been doing them well, your test grades are low, your homework is usually all squible like a kindergartners’, your class work are exact matches with others, and I have talked to them”
“Well what do you want me to do? I do my work you say I'm copying of off someone, you making jokes about my home…”
“That wasn’t a joke, all your homework are unreadable, I cannot correct what I can’t read…”
         “That’s not my fault, you’re the teacher…”
“Raoul, I didn’t call you up to have an argument with you, I want all of you to graduate, unless you want to be here for another year?” Mr. Burg crossed his arm
“Aight, fine, what do I have to do?”
“Get a tutor, and that is where Riah comes in”
“Who?” Raoul didn’t even turn to look at her, that stung.
“Riah, the one behind you” Mr. Burg practically rolled his eyes; Raoul turned and frowned at her.
“She’s going to tutor me?” he asked incredulously
“Raoul, you need this class, while Riah, with or without this class she will graduate.  She doesn’t need this class, yet she does her work and is getting good grades…” she hated when teachers praised her, her face warmed up, she was happy she was dark skin.
“Then why is she in this class?” Raoul asked smugly
“She needs to be somewhere, or do you want her walking around the school, anyways this is not about her, this is about you, Riah I need you to tutor him” Mr. Burg said, when Riah was about to say something, he held his hand up, “You will still be getting credit, think of this as an internship, you’ve already taken this class and passed it with an A, why repeat everything over? This should be easy for you” He said looking from her to Raoul
“Isn’t this an elective? How can an elective make me fail?” Raoul looked at him
“You need 2 years of language, without it you can’t pass; do you really want to fail because you couldn’t pass French?” Riah felt like giggling, to her French was the easiest.
“So when do we begin?’ he turned to her, she shrugged and looked at Mr. Burg
“I was thinking tomorrow after school would be a good start, you guys can exchange numbers and figure the rest out” He nodded to them, “You may go, and thanks Riah”
