Inspired poetry that could be rapped. |
Catholic Rap Imperceptible is the interlude From ‘You’ and ‘me’ into ‘us’ (Us!). God spoke and made me out of dust (Dust!); Absolutely! Love is Spontaneous! I already owe God all that I am but, blinded by death’s vile band, I tore his heart and I pierced it too, I nailed his feet and I nailed his hands. There’s a fountain gushing to eternal life; a river flowing from the wounded Christ. The flowing water is Baptism. Eucharist is his blood. “…I absolve you from all your sins…” is Redemption residing in God! His face can do nothing but manifest love. I attempt to follow his voice – the Person of Love. The Spirit consoles me The Spirit controls me Now I will complain and I will lament! Give me satisfaction and give me rest! Embrace me with Your strong right hand; uphold my head with that of Your left. Set me as a seal of love on Your heart; a seal as infinite as the cling of an infant. I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is mine. I am my Beloved’s Whose desire is kind. Stay me with flagons and comfort me with apples, I am sick with love And my heart is ravished. God is Love. (My body thirsts!) Jesus is the Word Who loved us first. By: Simon-Peter Zak, 2007. (Includes quotes from Holy Scriptures, especially Song of Songs and St. John; also from John Paul II’s Love and Responsibility and St. Bernard of Clairveaux’s On Loving God.) |
