We must not ignore The evidence that researchers have shown. When will we all declare: Enough! No more! Five hundred thousand cases are it's known. Just the exposed tip of the iceberg we can see! What is happening to us, within our society? Abuse may start small, but like a malignancy It spreads treacherous tendrils to ensnare. None of us can, or should, sit in complacency, We must make a stand, show that we do care. Just beneath the surface an evil current flows Drags all into the maelstrom, so this ‘cancer’ grows. Abuse is ugly, in every shape and torrid form, Physical, psychological, sexual; every kind. Abuse is not loving, or acceptable as the norm. You can’t hide from truth, you need to know, to mind. You must look behind respectable, there is no excuse, You can make a difference, melt this iceberg of abuse. |
