a poem about how i feel used
They tell me that I'm smart,
that I'm funny and good looking,
They say of everyone they know,
that'll I'll go the farthest in life.
But you know what?
All of it is meaningless,
I'm empty and alone.
Sure I can make you all laugh,
I can even make you smile when you are sad.
But the one thing i cant do,
is make you all understand how that makes me feel.
I'm a tool to you,
and nothing more.
I have a purpose,
I serve a function.
And like all tools when I've served my purpose,
I'm discarded and forgotten.
Life is a transient thing,
and mine is but a glimpse of sorrow and loneliness.
So the next time you laugh,
or the next time you smile,
try and ask yourself one thing.
Was I a good tool,
and did I serve my purpose well?
