A short story of love and friendship that will last forever
I should have seen love come up between my friends, but too many things was happening upon graduating high school. We were a circle of friends sticking up for one another and out to have a good time without sex, drugs, and ungodly living.
The girls was Lynn, Brittney, and then me, (Rachel). The guys was Kevin, Clint, and Davy.We were friends that lived within walking distance and went to the same school and church. Our parents would get together; watch movies, drink coffee, and talk about the things God was going to do.
We all had plans of leaving the nest, but the strength we found in our Christian community was so great that we could not leave.
Lynn was the funniest person I had ever met. She would have you  laughing and her snorts could be heard all over the room. Her and Kevin was a pair. Kevin was clumsy as they come. With him falling all over the place and Lynn's laughing snorts they were labeled class clowns.
Kevin, he would receive bandages and ointments in his Christmas stocking as a joke.
I, Rachel was just mostly the observer.I did what I had too, not to get into trouble. Clint, was always trying to get me in trouble. He lite a gas bomb while the teacher was out of the room. When she came back it had just begun to smoke. Within seconds it stunk up the place. There were classmates hanging out the windows everywhere.
Later, after the room had settled; the teacher ask who had done this. Then Clint said to the teacher, "I don't know where this one came from, but I see another one hanging out of Rachel's backpack." Laughter was heard all over the room, everyone knew it was Clint.
There was Brittney and Kevin, they both were interested in drawing. They were always sitting around at lunch time writing their ideas on napkins.Seems like they would at least bring a notebook to write on.
Love was on the rise, but with whom?
I would never have guessed it would be the class clown, Lynn, and the serious, brainy,ever-wise Davy. The one everyone called "four eyes" in the elementary school.
Davy could not take his eyes off of Lynn. Yea, she was the class clown, but her ability to make people laugh had caught Davy by the heart. She could take any situation and make it positive. The glow on her face always radiated Jesus.
Davy knew it had to be this night that he would confess that she was the one for him. He simply could not stand being without her any longer. His heart ached an longed to be married to her.
Lynn was preparing the popcorn for their evening movie together with all of them at her house, when Davy walked into the kitchen. She was well alert that it was Davy, because he always smelled so good that it drove her crazy. She admitted that yes, he was a brainy type with the glasses and everything, but the way he smiled would light up a room. Her hands begin to tremble and she dropped the bag in the floor.
They both went down to get it and his hand went on top of hers. It was love. They both knew it and before they could stop themselves they were kissing. That's when I walked in. Both rose to there feet fast and Lynn said, "Rachel, will you help me take the drinks in the dinning room."
Rachel smiled knowingly.
I, Rachel, could not have been happier at seeing them together. Although, it was a bit of a shock.
