My mind’s gallery holds
an image of you, head
thrown back,

your profile
outlined against the dim
light of streetlamps

gently seeping in
through your bedroom curtains.
You’re in mid-movement,

eyes closed, the silhouette
of your strong chin cutting
through the night air,

your adam’s apple emphasized,
exposed.
I need nothing more

than look at you
enraptured like this -
all my doing.

I captured the moment
when you, openmouthed,

kissed the sky.
