Who am I?

My daughter has suggested that I change my Writing. com E-mail name since it is my actual name.  She is a very intelligent young woman (she didn't get this from her father!)  and since we don't reverse roles too often I decide to give it some thought.  I am surprised at how many issues this raises and how telling a name can be if you are the one to select it.

If I were a child, I would just pick something fanciful and be done with it.  Alas, I have many more miles on me and I think this new name should reflect some of my experiences.  Over the years my husband and children have given me names to fit certain circumstances, but names such as "Destructo" (I broke a lot of dishes), or "Nurse Nutley" (let's just say I'm not very good with a bedpan!) would not celebrate who I really am.  Or, more likely, who I wish to be.

I've always fancied being a great beauty and begin to think of  some
women renowned for their physical attributes.  On reflection, I realize that a lot of the world's greatest beauties have come to a very sorry end.  This does dampen my enthusiasm for having people gasp when I enter a room and so I turn my thoughts to other possibilities.

I examine the other areas of my life and I realize that I need a lot more than a new name.  I need an overhaul!  Raising a family, cleaning and stretching a dollar are hardly what I wish to be remembered for.  I  do like everything connected with food though; I have a giant cookbook collection, a state-of-the-art kitchen, a voracious appetite and I really can cook.

An idea begins to form and I realize that I can combine the great beauty theme with my foodie personality.  Demi Moore has always been a  favorite of mine; she is georgous and timeless.  I look just like her (we both have brown hair) and, oh yes, I think I have hit upon genius.  My new name will be - Demi Glace!!!!!!
