my sweet essnce

they say children are our future and i have to agree
i've been blessed with four ages 5-16

the four on earth fill me with pride and joy
and then i think back to when they couldn't even stand
and wish that i could do it all over again

all of my children are different from one another
but i have unconditional love because i 'm their mother

i have one child that passed at 10 months old
her name is Essence (ekkie for short)
and she is the essence of my heart

she never said "mama" but that's alright with me
cause god knew her place was with him and not me

it took me some time to except that fact
but once i did my life was back on track

God know best is all i can say
i have four kids now and i thank him everyday
