sometimes even the best of bonds break...
I meet your gaze,
An eruption of anger deep inside of me,
My gaze becomes cold
Unbearable and cruel

We use to be so close,
Best friends,
Sometimes even called twins
Always together,
Never seen apart

We shared memories
We’ll unfortunately never forget,
Climbing trees,
Late nights filled with mid-night feasts

Never growing tired
of each others company
never growing tired
of each others pointless jokes.

However, that has passed
It has changed and revolved,
Now something different,
Something I can’t quite explain

I got tired of your remarks,
I got tired of your critics,
You became different,
As did I,
We began to grow apart
Everyday only further away

I now gaze upon the image I grew to hate
The image I wish I had never met
You pushed me down,
You enjoyed my torture

You took pleasure
Seeing me drown
You would stand there
Watching, laughing deep inside

Realizing you were never a support
My decision was made,
I let you go,
As a sister and a friend
I let you go,
As an enemy and a disease
I let you go,
You’re now non-existent

And as I leave your gaze
Those cold and lifeless eyes,
A warm smile spreads across my face,
As I realize the decision was finally made.
