Alone

Her eyes flutter open,
She turns in her bed,
But there's no one there.

She walks to the window,
And opens the curtains,
Wondering who he's with now.

She goes to the bathroom,
And washes her face,
Not knowing what she's done wrong.

There in the kitchen,
She picks up a mug,
And drinks like she's never had coffee before.

Just breathe she thinks,
As she's curled on the couch,
Knowing he's left her again.

All she can do is keep going on,
But she can't. . .
Not this time.

Just breathe.
