OUR CHILDREN_______ GODS LITTLE LAMBS HOLD A NEW BORN IN YOUR ARMS TOUCH THEIR FACE AGAINST YOUR CHEEK FEEL THE WARMTH RUSH TO YOUR SOUL YOUR HOLDING A MIRACLE________ THAT GOD HATH UNFOLD BE THEY EBON, OLIVE, YELLOW WHITE OR TAN YOUR HOLDING A RAINBOW THAT GOD HAS PLACED IN YOUR HAND THEIR BEAUTIFUL EYES, EARS, NOSE AND LIPS SO NEAT THEIR TINY LITTLE FINGERS AND TOES SO SWEET WE HOLD THEM AND CUDDLE THEM AND SHOWER THEM WITH LOVE OUR HEARTS ARE ELATED WITH THESE LAMBS FROM ABOVE WE RUN TO THEIR SIDE WHEN WE HEAR THEM CRY KISS THEIR SKINNED KNEE AND TEAR FROM THEIR EYE WE WATCH THEM GROW UP AND SEND THEM TO SCHOOL WE WORRY ABOUT THEM AS TEENS AND THEY THINK US AN OLD FOOL LAYING IN BED, PRAYING TO HEAVEN, WONDERING WHAT TO DO THEY WERE TO BE IN BY ELEVEN AND THE CLOCK SAYS –HALF-PAST-TWO NOW THEY ARE GONE AND ON THEIR OWN___ CHOOSING A MATE AND MAKING A HOME OUR HOUSE AND HEARTS ECHO NOW THAT WE ARE ALONE ALL THAT IS LEFT ARE MEMORYS AND THE PICTURES ON THE WALL THAT THAT ARE SHOWN SO WHEN WE FLEE THE BONDS OF EARTH AND REPORT TO OUR LORD ON HIGH WE’LL GO TO HIM ON BENDED KNEE A LOVING HEART AND SAY WITH A TENDER SIGH WE ARE HERE LORD, YOUR SHEPPARDS, WE HAVE TENDED YOUR FLOCK THEY ARE OUR CHILDREN,-- YOUR PRECIOUS LAMBS____ ARE THEY NOT A POEM WRITTEN BY JERRY BROWN PRAISE THE LORD FOR THESE BEAUTIFUL WORDS WRITTEN 02/15/04 |
