Prompt: What did I ever do to hurt you?

JASMINE
“Why me? What did I do to you?”
Jasmine asked in a trembling voice. The loud roars of laughter that filled the classroom, made her blood boil. Jasmine always tried her level best to greet everyone with a smile, but in return, a cold stare was the only gift she got from her classmates.

Three years back, on her way back from school, a large car had bumped with Jasmine’s *Note1*rickshaw. Doctors could save her life, but that giant vehicle had crushed her right foot. From then on, crutches and bitter words from cruel people accompanied her everywhere.

That day, her classmates had put *Note1*Super Glue on her chair. Her dress was ruined when she sat on it. Jasmine looked at her new school uniform. A piece from the glue-stained portion had already fallen off. According to those classmates, she was a lame, old fashioned girl. So they always searched for all the possible ways to hurt her.

Beep! A soft alarm from Jasmine’s wristwatch indicated the teacher’s arrival time. Drinking up the tears of grief and putting up a forced smile on her thin, pink lips, the thirteen-year-old prepared to begin her lessons.

“Good morning, class.” A thin, attractive lady walked into the classroom. “Today, we’ll write an essay about a pleasant experience. Start now.”

Jasmine began writing attentively, but the others were constantly talking. Despite the teacher’s warnings, no body wrote more than fifty words.

“All of you LEAVE! I’ll do class with Jasmine, because she’s the only one who can behave!” The teacher shouted at the top of her voice.

Jasmine produced a masterpiece. When the teacher saw her outfit, she said:
“Jasmine, you are the diamond of this coal mine. That’s why pieces of coal can’t stand you.”*Flower2*
