For those that roll the film- an attempt to escape...
The Previews are different, but, always the same:
Someone's version of making their 'name'
The audience here is quite the obedient,
I've seen it all: old, young and deviant.
Deviant I say; but, not spilt popcorn and sodas,
Deviant I say; because here lies the critics
in their all knowing glory
and flashing heretics
The scenes play on in bright color and mute grays,
and sometimes you see them on 'low customer days'
They speak in the mute tones of still-frame shows,
and often are there next to you in the darkened red rows.
Red velvet that envelopes your everyday life
and brings into it the orb's awful light.
For you have the luxury of choosing the scenes,
but, I am the prisoner of someone's lit dreams.
At times you may see me checking the exits,
the rows that you run when you notice the credits,
and know that the show is about to begin-
Not knowing for certain just how this will end.
End, as it will, when your show is through,
and you rise with the masses to face the bright hues
of the outside world and all it's glory,
please don't forget me- your master of stories.
